5.0 out of 5 stars more energy than sales, March 28, 2012

What happened to the Energy Veritas line? Evidently Klipsch didn't want to support it, probably because there are Klipsch branded speakers in the same price range.

I had a pair of Monitor Audio M2 speakers I liked, but when I saw these at $360.00/pair new, I decided to purchase them.

First, the build quality is impeccable. The finish is high gloss black, the bi-wiring binding posts substantial. The grille fits on the speaker with magnets. If you choose not to use the grilles, there are no holes on the front of the speaker to detract from its appearance. And they look great without grilles. Energy supplies a pair of white gloves with each speaker so you won't get fingerprints on the finish.

Second, the bass response: I live in an apartment and my living room is rather small. I didn't want a speaker that would overwhelm the room and I didn't want to disturb the neighbors. A subwoofer is out of the question. For me, the bass response of the V5.1... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing speakers, perfect for standalone, stereo stereo setups, June 15, 2012

This review is from: Energy V5.1 Monitor Single 2-way Veritas series bookshelf speaker (Electronics)
I bought these speakers to use with vintage Kenwood Eleven III receiver. I needed speakers that could handle the power from the receiver, but I also am not an audiophile and didn't want to break the bank on a hugely expensive set of speakers! More importantly, I live in small, city apartment so I didn't want something that was going to dominate my smallish living room.

These speakers fit the bill perfectly! They were affordable, and look amazing. I had read other reviews that talked about the finish quality, and I would agree; these speakers seem to be extremely high quality, and I love the black finish a lot! The magnetic grills are also an aesthetic feature that I really enjoy.

As far as sound goes, I think these speakers sound great. I have my ipod connected to the auxiliary on my receiver, and I mostly listen to music this way (or I turn on the radio occasionally). There is a surprising amount of bass coming from these speakers (though not overpowering), and... Read more

I upgraded from a 5.1 HTIB that had muddy bass and poor hi-range sound. These Energy bookshelf speakers look and sound beautiful! The vocals and instruments are clean and crisp. It is perfect for small to medium rooms. I would recommend taking advantage of the bi-amp wiring and pairing it with a respectable subwoofer. These speakers will let you appreciate music to its finest! These are well worth the original $400 a piece price, so have them both at a little less than $400 dollars is a steal.

    My system:
    pioneer elite 84tsxi, bi-amp
    mirage 8'' subwoofer
    blue-jean speaker cables
    Atlantic Bookshelf Stands
